I Saw You

My mind was in a mess just a while ago.

How I wished I was out of the country, a new slate, meeting new people

Introducing this new character like an upcoming, powerful, all-rounded protagonist 
to a big superhero movie chain.

But I was blinded by ego and pride.

I was blindsided by the fact that you were promising.

Like a quarter back hasting in the peripheries of a running football opponent; it felt sudden.

I saw you and I wept.

You took that ball way too early, and scored a point; forever.

My heart broke, and not even fate can save it then.

I tell myself every single day that I am where I should be.

As I wait for this emotional storm to pass,

my tears are now just droplets of prayers I hoped would be answered soon enough.
